I love this product! I have very dry skin and this is the answer. Plus, the scent is not over-powering. Some products work, but the scent is too strong.

I have combination AND sensitive skin. I FINALLY found a moisturizer that doesn't leave my skin greasy NOR feel like I didn't put anything on AND it comes with an SPF!! I hit the jackpot with this one!! And with the metal packaging, there is VERY little left in the tube when you're getting towards the end....5 stars from me!!

I just had to comment on this product. I've got very acne-prone and normally oily skin, however since I've been using Biotherm hydra-detox cleanser, I've had some dry flakes. I don't use moisturizer since everything makes me break out, but I found a sample tube from who-knows-where. So, I tried it. And I waited for the greasy skin and cystic-breakouts that everything gives me, especially if there is sunscreen in it. Nothing. In fact days later, clearer skin. Now it has been about a month and I just love this stuff!!!! I don't know if it is the combo of the cleanser and this, but my skin has very few breakout and it is so soft and smooth. I cannot believe it has shea butter in it. Be warned, however, you may need to apply this a couple of times a day, because it absorbs really well, but is quite light and your skin might still be a little bit dry. This stuff doesn't even leave my skin shiny and greasy. Even oil-free moisturizers leave my skin dripping with grease by the end of the day. I highly recommend this. Believe it or not, it cleared up my skin!!

I like this moisturizer for winter days when my skin feels parched or in need of comfort. I don't tend to use it when my skin becomes red and irritated because I prefer products more designed for sensitive skin but as a go to moisturizer for normal days, it works quite well. I won't be using it though in the summer months because it's too rich for that time of the year but I can see how those with very dry skin in a less humid environment could really benefit from using the product year round.

It was so hard to find a heavy-duty moisturizer with SPF for the winter. I tried several, from top of the line to the local drugstore. So, finding L'Occitane Shea Butter SPF 15 was simply a godsend. It feels luxurious on the skin, and blends quickly so you can begin your makeup almost immediately. It also doesn't cake up with the foundation - which was a problem I had with a lot of other SPF products. I LOVE this moisturizer!

This lotion is a bit pricey, but well worth it!! I have extreme combination skin and it is esp. dry in the winter, so bad that it can turn patchy and red if not taken care of. This lotion absorbs really quickly, moisturizes well, leaves a soft feel, and has SPF! The price is the only offset but at least you can squeeze every last bit out of the tube (I squeeze from the bottom like its toothpaste and roll it) and its worth it if you have dry skin like I do.

I first tried this in a tiny sample tube from a flight pack. It was divine. I vacillate between the glycolic cosmecuticals and the natural products and l'occitane is now a firm fave. This moisturiser truly is soothing, moisturisng and nourishing. I love to slap it on after a good glycolic peel or mask, it really softens and calms any irritation. I love the tube it comes in, so french and I hate open pots which breed bacteria. Def a repurchase!!

I got this as a sample first and starting using it whenever I leave home for an early morning jog or errand. I don't think I would use it as an all-day moisturizer (to go out or to work) since it's very rich and might make my face shine too much by the end of the day (I have normal/combo skin). However, I would repurchase this product for the use I have described above.

I bought this because Dr Baumann listed it as one of the best day moisturisers for my skin type. I've been looking for years for the elusive moisturiser with sunscreen that will moisturise adequately, but not break me out and now I think I've found it. This moisturiser smoothes on easily and the fragrance, while noticeable, isn't offensive. At first my skin is very shiny, but it only takes about ten minutes for this lovely stuff to sink in almost completely. All it takes is a quick press of my skin with a towel to remove the surface shine in preparation for my make-up. This keeps my skin moisturised, but not oily, all day long and seems to be a good base for foundation. My skin hasn't felt this soft and moisturised in years, and best of all, I haven't had a single pimple since I started using this. For a moisturiser with sunscreen, that is truly amazing! Unless my skin suddenly reacts, or they discontinue this, I will continue to use it.
EDIT: March 2008 - I've just found out that this is going to be discontinued because L'Occitane have developed an SPF40 shea butter moisturiser, which WILL NOT be available in Australia because we have very strict sunscreen laws and according to the sales assistant who told me, L'Occitane aren't willing to do all the required testing to meet regulations so they aren't going to sell it here. So, my favourite moisturiser of all time will be discontinued and I won't be able to buy the replacement! WAAAAAHHHH!!!!

I am so happy that I was given a sample of this product at a local boutique because I probably would have never tried it. I have normal to dry skin and it has been very hard for me to find a moisturizer with a light consistancy that does the job and doesn't break me out...well I have finally found it!! Thanks L'Occitane!!

I received this BNIB in a swap, and the first day or so, I didn't feel like it was moisturizing enough. I actually thought it made my skin feel tight, but come to find out it was because I didn't put on my morning serum. I didn't want to give up hope on this cream, I really wanted to make it work. Well, sure enough I noticed that when I put on my serum in the mornig, my skin feels amazingly soft, and moisturized. The scent is not overpowering, but somewhat soothing. I have normal/dry skin, and this product did not break me out. If you use it alone, I don't think it would be that moisturizing, so for that reason I probably will not repurchase, but am glad to have been able to receive it in a swap before shelling out the $30.

I thought this cream would be way too rich, but it feels wonderful. No breakouts and no peelies and my skin is soft. Very pleased. And this will last you forever you only need a bit!

I wear sunscreen on my face, neck, and hands everyday and while I wouldn't use this on my face as intended, I keep it in my purse for use as an spf handcream after washing my hands throughout the day. For this purpose I love this stuff. It moisturizes pretty well and feels nice and dry once its absorbed. No greasy finger prints everywhere. I'm not a fan of the scent in the Shea line, but I like the formula enough that I'll keep using it.

Ladies, buy the travel size, (1 oz for $8) you get an excellent product that lasts forever and you can carry in your purse. They are charging $30 for 1.7 oz which makes no sense at all to me. Anyway, absolutely love everyting about this- smell, texture, hydration level is perfect for winter in Chicago. Love the extra rich cream for night too. So far no breakouts, which was my primary concern. Might have to say HG after searching for at least 10 years....

This product was great for my dry & flaky skin. I didn't break-out even though the cream is so rich. I do agree with previous reviewers that you have to "re-apply" the moisturizer...usually 2x before foundation goes on or else the flakes will re-appear when the loose powder goes on. This moisturizer is worth a try! continued >>

I did not like the cream at all.It is very misleading- it feels like a rich cream, but it is not even moisturising enough for my combo skin.
i believe the problem here that the cream goes not sink wright , it just sties on the skin.
L'occitane Immortele precious cream is way better for dry skin.
and as for SPF products i am not impressed with L'Occitane , i will continue using Olay or Shiseido.

I tried this product based on my friend's experience with it. She said it completely cleared up her acne, which made no sense to me at all, given that it's shea butter. But then after I got pregnant, my skin started going haywire and my normal moisturizers were inadequate for my newly dry, acne-prone skin. So I thought I'd give this a shot.
I am SO glad I did! It's really a magnificent moisturizer. Completely cleared up my dry flakes AND my acne. Sinks in wonderfully. Has a good SPF. The scent is definitely there, but it's "clean" rather than "perfumy" and it doesn't give me a headache (like even my own favorite perfumes are doing right now).
This is the perfect moisturizer for my current skin - I just hope it works as well after the baby is born :).

I've used this for a few months. Even though it is pretty good at moisturizing, its many problems outweigh that. The powdery smell lingers for a while. Also, I hate the packaging - the twist-on/off cap never goes back on the tube easily. Finally, why is there no expiry date on this, like with other sunscreens? The label says to use it up in 12 months, but how do you know you're not getting old stock? This is way too many problems for a product that costs this much! PS. The reviewer below refers to "no chemical sunscreen" - but my label says this contains ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate/octinoxate (7%) and bezophenone-3 oxybenzone (0.5%), in addition to the titanium dioxide (1.54%). I believe only the last one is considered non-chemical???

This is a very nice face cream with SPF 15. No chemical sunscreen and a mild baby powder scent. It is hydrating but not greasy ( thank you shea butter) It is definately a winter favorite. I find it a bit too heavy for my skin in summer. The tube package is great for travel and also for squeezing every last bit out. The product lasts a long time you don't need much for the whole face.

I liked this a lot for a daytime moisturizer, since it's light enough for me to use it all over my face and get maximum benefits from the sunscreen. It's nice and soothing on dry skin and absorbs well without leaving me greasy.
